Welcome to my new website, and the first “News and Stuff…” This is where I’ll let you know about my books, other writing projects, my travels, and weird bits of life. From time to time, I may even include excerpts from novels or short stories I’m working on.

To get you up-to-speed, this year’s going to be a big one! My first traditionally published book will be launched by BWL Publishing The Aquamarine Necklace: A Janice Maidstone Mystery is a police procedural murder mystery that takes place in Calgary, Alberta.

I’m also revising and adding a bit of new material to my first self-published historical romance that many of you may be familiar with (Under the Ombu Tree). Full disclosure – I rushed to publication with this one, and there are more than a few errors and typos in it.  As soon as I’m happy with the corrections, I’ll re-launch it with a new cover and ISBN.

It will be followed with a sequel. Are you curious if Lady Mary and Miguel ever get together? This book may answer your question.

I’m writing this “News and Stuff” column while surrounded by clothes, toiletries, and suitcases. In less than two weeks I am going on an epic ocean voyage on the Holland America Volendam. 133-DAY GRAND VOYAGE: POLE TO POLE. I won’t be back home until the leaves are out on the trees again, and the mosquitoes are making a nuisance of themselves on June 7.

I am both incredibly excited and daunted at the thought of being away for so long, in a small ocean-view stateroom. Also intimidating is the idea that I will be in such close proximity to other people for so long. If you know me, you know I love my solitude! 

Huge thanks to a fantastic neighbour and my twin sister for checking my mail and ensuring there are no water leaks in the condo during my absence.
